Description
The ЕМ1501 thickness gauge. The operating clearance of up to 7 mm (coating thickness), operation with EMAT with a pulsed electromagnet, with conventional EMAT with a permanent magnet, with classic PET allow the EM1501 thickness gauge to inspect steel pipes, sheet metal, rods, and other products made from steel, aluminum and other metals in the convenient, fast and reliable way.
The operation of the EM1501 thickness gauge is based on the latest scientific developments in the field of non-destructive testing and huge experience of the engineers of the Oktanta company. The device measures thickness of the metal through a gap of up to 7 mm (the largest value compared to the other EMA thickness gauges). The EM1501 operates with classic PET, that expands the range of measured thickness and allows, if necessary, to confirm the measured thickness value. The EM1501 operates with EMAT with a pulsed electromagnet that does not stick to dirt. A special high-temperature transducer allows inspection of hot objects heated up to 750 °C.
• just bring the transducer to the surface of the tested object;
• fastest measurement possible;
• both on a flat surface and on surfaces with a radius of curvature of the tested object surface of 10 mm and more;
• on corroded and contaminated surfaces without the need to clean the transducer;
• through a coating up to 7 mm thick (when using the EMAT with a permanent magnet);
• for hot objects heated up to 750 °C (when using the high-temperature transducer);
• with classic piezoelectric transducers (when using a PET channel).
Additional materials:

EMAT and PET are two independent measuring channels that allow to increase the reliability of inspection. PET is recommended to be used on those objects where the thickness of deposits on the metal surface does not allow to use EMAT and surface cleaning is required. The EMAT with a pulsed electromagnet is recommended to be used on a contaminated surface with a deposit thickness of no more than 1-2 mm.
The EM1501 can operate with:
• EMA transducers with a pulsed electromagnet that does not stick to dirt
• piezoelectric transducers:
– PET 5 MHz, aperture diameter is 10 mm
– PET 5 MHz, aperture diameter is 7.2 mm
– PET 10 MHz, aperture diameter is 5 mm
• standard EMA transducers with a permanent magnet.

Features of the EM1501 thickness gauge:
• Thickness measurement through a gap of up to 7 mm;
• A-scan display and scale;
• B-scan and C-scan display, export them to a PC to generate reports;
• Selection of thickness measurement algorithm (automatic, by 2 gates, by 1 gate);
• Saving all measurement information (including A-scans);
• Connection of different transducers, including the high-temperature transducer for inspection of objects heated up to 750 °C;
• Connection of EMAT with a pulsed electromagnet that does not stick to dirt;
• Connection of classic PET.
The bright color screen of the EM1501 can display the thickness and A-scan for the current tested object. In addition to A-scans, the device can display B-scans and C-scans, transfer measurement results to a PC in a tabular form for further generation of an inspection report in the EMViewer software.
