The compact PE1537 pulsed eddy current flaw detector detects metal corrosion under insulation of total thickness up to 200 mm!

PE1537 operates with two types of probes:
• PEC153705 for the inspection of stainless steel objects
• PEC153704 for the inspection of carbon steel objects.
Both probes can inspect metal objects up to 30 mm thick.

The device measures the averaged metal thickness under the probe.

PE1537 is suitable for detecting general area corrosion located on both the external and internal surfaces of the metal.

The device also enables the detection of areas with concentrated pitting corrosion.

The probe operates underwater

The probe features an IP68-rated housing (dust and moisture protection) and can be used underwater

Compact, lightweight, and user-friendly

The device weighs just 0.8 kg. It features an ergonomic, impact-resistant housing and a color display with impact-resistant glass

Wide operating temperature range

The temperature of the metal of the test object is from -200 to +400°C. The temperature of insulation jacket surface in the area of probe placement is from -20 to +60°C

Applications of PE1537:
• Corrosion detection on oil and gas pipelines with film insulation;
• Corrosion detection on pipes and pipelines with a 3-layer polypropylene coating;
• Corrosion detection on stainless steel pipes and pipelines for the nuclear and chemical industries;
• Corrosion detection on pipes and pipelines in polyurethane foam insulation;
• Corrosion detection on different steel supports, for example, street lamp supports or electrical grid supports;
• Inspection of pipes with internal cement coating from the inside of the pipe;
• Corrosion areas detection on pipes through rust without stripping;
• Corrosion detection on steel ship parts through a thick layer of paint.

The device features:
• The device has the minimum size of a probe, so it can detect small defects;
• The device has a bright display which shows the measured thickness, A-scan and C-scan;
• Measurement results are stored in the device's memory and easily transferred to a PC via USB;
• The display is protected by shock-resistant glass;
• The probe features an IP68-rated housing and can be used underwater.

The device comes in a shock-resistant case, making it convenient to store and transport to the site of use.
